
UN Scribe Calls For Stronger Global Development Partnership To Achieve MDGs
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday called for stronger global development partnership amid declining level of aid to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which world leaders pledged to achieve by 2015.
Addressing at a media conference to launch the 2012 MDG Gap Task Force Report at the UN headquarters in New York, Ban urged governments around the world not to place the burden of financial problems on the `back of the poor’’. He said the report painted a gloomy picture, adding that “it is clear that we need a stronger global partnership to achieve the MDGs by the 2015 deadline.”
